COVID19 F&Q and T&C's

Is your store open as usual?
On Tuesday 24th March we made the decision to temporarily close the store due to COVID-19. Orders can still be placed online.

Why have you closed your store?
We kept our stores open as long as we could, but following Government advice we made the decision to close for the safety of our customers and colleagues. The safety of our staff and customers comes first, so we feel that this is the right thing to do.

When will you be open again?
We will be closely monitoring the situation and any updates from the Government and Public Health England. When the time is right to do so, we will reopen and we look forward to welcoming you inside once again.

What if I need to speak to someone about my order, or have an enquiry how do i go ahead?
We know the coming days and weeks will be filled with uncertainty and if you have any queries, please email us at sales@handf.co.uk as there is no one around monitoring our phone lines.

Can I still place an order online for delivery?
Yes, orders can still be placed through our website. Our workshop remains temporarily closed and your order will proceed once we can begin manufacturing again, our lead time will be 8 - 10 weeks from when we're open.

Can I still receive delivery of my furniture items?
Following the latest advice from Government and Public Health England regarding social distancing restrictions, some of our local deliveries and collection will begin WC 27TH April, longer distance customers will remain suspended until further notice due to travel restrictions.
With the current social distancing measures in place, we have a limited amount of days available.
All deliveries and collections will operate as usual once social distancing and travel restrictions have been lifted. Your patience is appreciated as we work through existing orders.

How will I be contacted to arrange a delivery and how can I pay my balance?
You will receive an email to the email address you gave at the time of ordering informing you of your delivery date and time slot. A link for your balance payment will also be on the same email so you can pay online.

What are we doing to keep you and us safe?
The health and wellbeing of our customers and employees remains our primary concern, therefore there will be a limited number of staff in our dispatch depot, and deliveries will be made to ensure we’re able to maintain safe social distancing. We will continue to follow guidance on the best methods to prevent the spread of infection in accordance with recommendations provided by the World Health Organisation.

Should I be concerned about touching an order I have received or collected?
Public Health England have said that the risk of the virus being transmitted from items is low.
Staff are using gloves and hand sanitiser, to prevent spread and to ensure that all deliveries made are safe.

What if I am self isolating or do not wish to come into contact with a delivery driver?
Please do not accept your delivery and notify us as soon as possible and we will cancel your delivery for you. We will contact you in 3 week's time to reschedule your delivery.

Can I collect my order if it is exdisplay or in stock?
Yes. Order online and collect from our store or dispatch depot. If the item is exdisplay or in stock we will contact you to arrange a date and a time for collection. As we are closed we need to ensure someone is around to let you in. Please bring someone with you from your household to help carry your items if you are collecting.
Please note, for the safety of our customers and colleagues, we are following social distancing recommendations and we will not be able to assist loading of the goods.

Are deliveries on time?
In line with advice from Government and Public Health England, deliveries have been suspended for a period of six weeks.
If you have already placed an order, or if you place an order during this period, we will contact you to arrange delivery when our operations are back to normal.

I ordered before and during lockdown, am I able to cancel my order?
Our standard cancellation policy is still in place, you are allowed a 14 days cancellation period for a full refund anything after this time you will forfeit your deposit.

I have paid for my items, I am not able to take delivery due to my location and I am worried I will not receive my goods?
Rest assured your furniture is safe and well looked after. As soon as the lockdown measures have been lifted and we are able to travel longer distances which allows drivers to stay overnight and hotels are reopened we will deliver your goods as soon as possible. All customers who were previously booked out for delivery and were cancelled due to the original lockdown announcements in March will be rescheduled as priority. Manufacture will also begin as soon as lock down has been lifted to.



1.1 Prices include VAT at the current rate and exclude delivery charges.

1.2 We reserve the right to alter prices at any time.

1.3 If a pricing error occurs H&F will contact you to offer a suitable alternative or issue a full refund.

1.4 If an order is placed and the items are then put into a sale, H&F will honour the sale price for orders placed 7 days prior to the start of the sale only. Any orders after this date can not be refunded or cancelled. (Please see section 5 'Cancellations').


2.1 Orders can be placed online, by telephone or in store.

2.2 A 30% deposit upon placing an order is required, with the full balance payable 7 days prior to delivery or any period before

2.3 If for any reasons any goods are unavailable H&F will contact you to offer a suitable alternative or issue a full refund.

2.4 Confirmation emails must be read and checked H&F cannot be held responsible if a mistake is made and the information on the order confirmation matches that of delivery.

2.5 Dine & save discount only applies to dining tables & chairs listed online. Sleep & save discount only applies to the products listed online. Discount cannot be applied to any other items within the H&F furniture range or accessories.Returning customer discount and bespoke orders not included within any packages or sales. These promotions can be discontinued without any noitce.

2.6 Bespoke orders are not included in any in-store, online or telephone offers, reductions or sales.

2.7 Returning customer discount is not valid in any in-store,online or telephone offers,reductions or sales.

2.8 Packages are excluded from any additional online, instore or telephone offers.

2.9 Items bought as exdisplay are advised to be seen prior to purchase, items are sold as seen, items are non refundable and no guarantee is given. If you require more images we would be more then happy to supply you with some.


3.1 Free samples of the H&F Plank wood, fabrics and leather are available at request.

3.2 Our furniture is handmade, the manufacturing process is left visible in our products, this includes saw marks and strap marks. This is not a defect or fault and is not refundable or returnable for this reason alone.


3.3 Dimensions shown are to the nearest cm, measured to the widest points.

3.4 All H&F Sofas and Chairs are upholstered with Aniline Italian leather and will have natural scars and branding visible and a slight colour variance may occur. We may send you a sample for approval.

3.5 H&F offers variations of finishes; Plank, Parisienne, Industrial, Oak and Vintage. Please see definations below:

Plank is our upmost best seller, this is what the majority of our furniture is manufactured in, it's the rough sawn finish so our most loved rustic, characteristic, worn and battered looking furniture, stained and waxed to a medium Oak colour.

Parisienne is a fully smooth product which has been stained, waxed and lime finished to give it a white wash look. This is not a paint finish this is waxed. 

Our Industrial range is a mixture of our Plank timber with a steel 5cm frame. 

Oak, Dining Chairs such as the Ladder Back, Nordic and Bistro Chairs are all Oak Frames. They are stained and waxed in the same colour medium Oak for a close match to our Plank furniture range. The Oak X Frame Tables and are treated in an oil finish.

Vintage Range a mixture of Plank and Smooth timbers married together. The tops and plinths are kept in the Plank finish whereas the body is smooth and painted.


4.1 If any goods arrive damaged or defected please contact H&F immediately, responibility cannot be accepted after a 48 hour period.

4.2 Photographic evidence may be requested when reporting faulty goods.

4.3 All the Plank furniture range carries a 10 year guarantee for structural defects.

4.3 This guarantee does not cover any furniture which has a defect, fault or damage arising through general wear and tear or mis-use as part of a non-domestic environment i.e. hotels, restaurants, B&B's and Bars etc.


5.1 Orders may be cancelled within 7 days of checkout via writing, email or telephone.

5.2 Cancellations outside of 7 days will be subject to a loss of deposit or 30% of the total sale amount.

5.3 Bespoke items are subject to a loss of 50 % of the sale amount outside of the 7 day period.


6.1 Items must be returned in original packaging and fit for resale, within 14 days of purchasing.

6.2 Postage for non faulty or unwanted items is to be paid for by the customer. A trackable and insured service must be used and H&F must be provided with a tracking number.

6.3 A collection service is offered by H&F and is charged at the same cost of delivery to your given address.

6.4 If you wish to return the goods the H&F team will contact you once collection has taken place to issue the refund over the phone.  


7.1 H&F deliver to all mainland UK, we can provide overseas shipping however you would need to contact us before placing your order to get a quote.

7.2 Smaller items will be sent out using a courier service to lower the cost of delivery.

7.3 H&F aims to delivery within the estimated timeframe of 8 to 10 weeks for standard items and between 10 to 12 weeks for bespoke. This is from the date the order is placed or from date of approval.

7.4 H&F offers no compensations for late deliveries due to unforeseen circumstances.

7.5 H&F does not offer a furniture removal service, the space where you would like installation of your order should be clear and accessible. No responsilbility will be taken by H&F in the unlikely event of damages on delivery.

7.6 Items marked as instock may not be available for immediate collection.

7.7 Items marked as instock can be delivered within a quicker time frame depending upon location.

7.8 If the allocated timeslot is not appropiate you should make H&F aware immediately. H&F will re-arrange however this could result in a delay in receiving your order. If after 3 attemps this has not been received a storage fee will be charged at £20 per week. 

7.8i H&F does not accept responsibility to store items for you if you are not ready to accept delivery within our lead time. This includes delays due to your builders, decorators or moving house etc. There will be a £20 per week storage fee if you are not able to accept delivery. This does not include arrangments being agreed at time of ordering.

7.8ii Failed delivery caused by you will result in the forfeit of the cost of delivery. The same charge will be applicable to re deliver your items.

7.9 You must notify H&F at point of sale if there are any access restrictions we need to be aware of this includes: stairways, doorways, hallways and parking. H&F does not manufacure flat packed furniture, some items may be made as solid pieces and others may only break down into sections, please be sure your item will fit into your property, we can not be responsible for items not fitting into your property. If the item needs to be returned for this reason on 30% of the product is refunded. H&F are not responsible for parking permits. Any parking tickets received during your delivery you will be billed by H&F unless proven otherwise.

7.10 During your delivery our delivey team may take photos of your furniture and we may publish these on social media (no personal details will be given)

7.11 During your delivery, our delivery team may take photos of your furniture with your permision and these may be used for marketing purposes only. If you do not wish to have your items appear on our website or social media please let the drivers know and they will not take any photos.


8.1 H&F takes care to check the accuracy of the information given. However, we do not warrant that such information will be error free and the user acknowledges that information, products and services published may include inaccuracies and typological errors.


9.1 We only use the information we collect about you carefully, lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Information we hold: If you have shopped with us we will hold your name, address, telephone number and email address. We will also hold the delivery address(es) for your orders and the password information associated with your account. We also maintain a record of your product selections. We will not disclose or pass on your details to any third party. We will use your email address to contact you to advise of any promotional offers or new product ranges. If you do not wish to be contacted please opt out or contact us.
