Description

The H&F Plank Bed is our original solid wood bed and still the most favourite. Traditionally constructured using solid 12 inch planks of sustainable timber, which is handpicked by our workshop. All timber is Forestry Commissioned which increases the value of woodlands to society and the environment. All side rails and slats to our bed ranges are also made from solid timber to give ultimate strength to every bed.

Please bear in mind that due to the handmade nature of this rustic bed the dimensions shown may vary slightly and should only be used as a guide. We also leave all original saw mill markings in our beds to give the 100% natural look you see.

How is the bed constructed?

The H&F Plank bed is made using traditional techniques including mortis and tenon joints. The side rails attach with bedroc fittings this ensures they will not weaken over time.

Does the bed fit a standard UK mattress?

Every H&F Plank bed fits a standard UK mattress only the frame is larger due to the chunky solid wood.

How do the underbed storage attached?

Our underbed storage are made as a solid unit which goes in place of your side rail. They are universal so can be placed either side or both.

Having undertaken a search for a quality wooden bed for my daughter, this was the only one that came close. Sturdy, SOLID wood, enough clearance for the dog to sleep underneath were essential. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is because, as mentioned in the description, there is a slight variation in size due to the hand made nature of the beds and with the mattress we bought, there is no finger room to lift and tuck sheets under. I would suggest that it's worth having one made bespoke to avoid this. Delivery was excellent and put it up in the blink of an eye.
